I can’t believe how many photos I ended up with for this wedding! We shot over 3200 images and narrowed it down to around 1200. The final total with b&w, sepia, cool toned, and other alternates put it up to 1758! That’s a lot of photos, and a lot of time. Sorry for such a long blog post, hopefully you’ll love the images as much as I do.

My brother in law is an aspiring actor living in Hollywood right now, so on a recent trip to southern California, I had the opportunity to update his headshots. The shoot was so great, we drove around Hollywood looking for great locations to shoot and found our fair share. The lighting was super tought to work with since we had to shoot during midday with the sun directly above us! It worked out quite well though, despite the challenges.

We had the great privilege of photographing Emmerson (4) & Reese (1) at Victoria Beach in Laguna! First of all, this shoot was so fun! I got to roll up my jeans (Huckleberry Finn style), take off my sandals and run around on the beach while photographing two of the funniest girls ever! Thank you Anson & Joy for this great opportunity, you guys are great and I hope you love the shots.

My wife Rachel wanted to give a gift to the family that she was a nanny for so we decided to do a mini portrait session as a surprise. I came over and photographed Emma, went back to the office, edited the photos, printed a 12×18, matted the print, framed it, and Rachel delivered it all in the same day. Here are the results. At Eric & Lynne’s Orthodox Jewish Wedding there was not much time for any sort of bridal portraits so we decided to do a bridal shoot a week after the wedding. We got some great wedding portraits of the couple having a really great time. If you or someone you know is interested in having Joshua Rainey Photography as your wedding photographer you can get more info here.

I got to photograph my first ever Orthodox Jewish Wedding on May 30th at Temple Beth Israel! This was not only my first time photographing a Jewish wedding, it was also my first time attending one so I had to study quite a bit in order to know what was going to happen. I loved it though, the ceremony is very quick and direct and then they have a huge party. Well, they actually have a party before the ceremony and then continue it afterwards. There was glass breaking, circle dancing, feet kicking, juggling, and a lot of other great fun!

I recently had an opportunity to photograph another rehearsal and dinner at the Panorama rental house. This house is amazing; cherry floors, fireplace, two outdoor decks, an incredible kitchen, and more! Eric & Beth had their rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and wedding here back in February. For Eric & Lynne (I know, similiar names too) it was just the rehearsal dinner here and we had a great time. There were plenty of complications involved in this shoot; like the fact that the bride and groom were on seperate floors and not seeing each other until the wedding date. We got some great shots though, I hope you love them!

This shoot was so much fun! We started out in Thurston at a couple of overgrown fields and then had to head east to avoid some incredibly large storm clouds! That didn’t work so we headed back to the west in search of clear skies and dry ground. We ended up on some hills overlooking Jasper. Then we moved on to a couple of run-down buildings. This couple was so much fun to photograph and we had a lot of laughs during the shoot. Thanks Nate & Kaila! I’m excited to photograph your wedding this summer!
